Communication and Media Arts Professor Corey Liberman Receives Past President’s Award at Convention

Communication and Media Arts Professor Corey Liberman, Ph.D. received the Past President’s Award at the 109th Annual Eastern Communication Association (ECA) Convention held April 25-29, 2018 in Pittsburgh, PA.

The award is presented by past members of the ECA, and is given to a member of the association who is 10-15 years beyond the doctorate, a tenured faculty member, has a record of teaching excellence at his/her institution, contributed a significant body of research to the communication discipline, and a significant record of continuing service to the ECA.

The ECA serves as the regional conference for the communication field and comprises roughly 3,000 communication and media scholars. Established in 1910, it continues as the oldest professional communication association in the United States. As a distinguished service-oriented organization with a history of achievement in research, criticism, communication theory, and excellence in teaching, the ECA welcomes members who share the goals and objectives of a membership dedicated to participation in state, regional, and national activity.

Every year, the Mathematics department holds a College-wide π-Day contest. Students, faculty, and staff are invited to submit an original sentence, paragraph, poem, or short story that uses the digits of π in order (π ≈ 3.1415926..).
