MMC Professor and Alumna Part of Postproduction Team of Film Premiering at Cannes Film Festival
Assistant Professor of Communication and Media Arts, Erin Greenwell, and alumna Christina Remley ’17 were part of the postproduction team for Yomeddine, a film having its world premiere at the Cannes Film festival and nominated for the Palme D’Or award.
Greenwell served as the Picture Editor while Remley served as First Assistant Editor for Yomeddine. Directed by A.B. Shawky, the film tells the story about a man affected by leprosy and his orphaned apprentice who leave the confines of the leper colony for the first time and embark on a journey across Egypt in search for their families.
From assembly to subtitling to picture lock, Yomeddine was cut in MMC’s own Theresa Lang Center for Producing. MMC’s Director of Mac Technical Support, Cheryl Lynn Adriano, and her IT team were invaluable during this process in maintaining the computers, server, internet, and editing software.
The Palme D’Or award is the highest prize awarded at the festival and will be judged by a jury led by actress, Cate Blanchett.
Congratulations to all involved!
