President’s Medal Gala Raises $400,000 in Scholarship Support

This year’s gala co-chairs were Campaign Chair and TrusteeJudy ’03 and Russ Carson, and Trustee Natasha Pearland Richard Stowe. Remarks were presented by President Judson R. Shaver, Ph.D. and Chairman of the Board of Trustees Lou Martarano. 

MSNBC Anchor Tamron Hall served as the mistress of ceremonies. The evening included a performance by MMC students Antoinette Henry ’10and Matthew Walsh ’11, who performed “My Way” and research presentation by Hadley Cooney ’11. 

This year’s honorees are women who proudly serve as trustees of Marymount Manhattan and have demonstrated their generous support and dedication to the College by leading various fundraising and philanthropic efforts to uphold the College’s mission.

The 2010 President’s Medal honorees: 

Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary (RSHM), the religious order that founded Marymount Manhattan in 1936, as a women’s college. Three RSHM members serve on the College’s Board of Trustees. 

Anne C. Flannery ’73, co-chair of the Academic Affairs Committee and former chair of the College’s Board of Trustees. She is a partner at Morgan Lewis & Bockius, LLP, specializing in securities regulation, enforcement and litigation matters. 

Mary Twomey Greason ’86, chair of the Facilities Committee and the Student Affairs Committee and is a member of the Academic Affairs and Executive Committees. She was a trustee member of the College’s Facilities Master Plan Task Force. 

Hope D. Knight ’85, chair of the Compensation Committee. She is the COO of the not-for-profit Upper Manhattan Empowerment Zone whose mission is to revitalize Upper Manhattan’s economy.

Ginger Lyons de Neufville ’70, chair of the Trustees Committee, serves on the Executive and Investment & Finance Committees, and is also a member of the Campaign Executive Committee. She is Executive Director of the Mount Auburn Cambridge Independent Practice Association (MACIPA). 

Lucille Zanghi, co-chair of the Academic Affairs Committee and a member of the Student Affairs, and the Fundraising and Resources Committees. She is also a member of the Campaign Executive Committee at Marymount Manhattan College.
