Alumni News: Amy Pekal Returns from Chile

Amy Pekal ’15, Business and Art History double major, Art Studio minor, was a visiting professor and artist in residence at DUOC UC, in Santiago de Chile.

Pekal was the first Visiting Professor in the Design School of DUOC from August to December 2017. She worked with students to create a proposal for an art installation exhibition at the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes in Santiago, Chile.  

After graduating from MMC, Pekal went on to complete her Certificate in Fine Arts from the New York Academy of Art.  Her works have been exhibited in Chile, New York, New Jersey, and Long Island.

She will have a solo show of her new work ECHOES at Centro Cultural Casa Quemada in Santiago opening March 8, 2018.

Pekal is currently a Teaching Assistant at the New York Academy of Art in a Figure Painting and Ecorché class.

Curating the City: Art Classes During COVID-19
