Biology Alumna Heads to Dental School

Victoria McIlrath, who graduated with a B.S. in Biology in 2015, will attend the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in the fall.

The Department of Natural Sciences is proud to announce that Biology alumna Victoria McIlrath ’15 will be attending the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine this fall. Victoria will complete her M.S. in Biology at Drexel University this May. She reports that her experience doing undergraduate research in Biology with Prof. Ann Aguanno at Marymount Manhattan set her apart as a dental school applicant. She also credits her success to the tight-knit and supportive environment in the Department of Natural Sciences.

Safety Precautions and Synchronous Learning: MMC Laboratories in the Time of COVID

As MMC worked to reopen its Main Campus for the Fall 2020 semester, the Department of Natural Sciences developed a plan to continue performing in-person laboratory courses while also accommodating remote learners. MMC’s science labs underwent extensive safety reinforcement to allow in-person students to participate in labs with their remote partners learning from home.
