Governor Cuomo Visits MMC’s Bedford Hills College Program

On the evening of Wednesday, September 14, Governor Andrew Cuomo paid a surprise visit to the Marymount Manhattan College Program at Bedford Hills Correctional Facility.

During his visit, he observed Professor Mary Ann O’Donnell’s Writing Seminar II class, and engaged in a lively discussion with the students on the value of higher education for inmates. The Governor also spoke with Director Aileen Baumgartner about the history of the College Program and praised Marymount Manhattan College for its long and steadfast support of higher education for the women of Bedford Hills.

Marymount Manhattan College was recently selected for the U.S. Dept. of Education “Second Chance” Pell Pilot Program, which will support the students of Bedford Hills, More about the Bedford Hills College Program is available here

Math Department Holds The Eleventh Annual Pi-Day Contest

Every year, the Mathematics department holds a College-wide π-Day contest. Students, faculty, and staff are invited to submit an original sentence, paragraph, poem, or short story that uses the digits of π in order (π ≈ 3.1415926..).
