President Shaver Responds to Hurricane Sandy

To Members of the Marymount Manhattan College Community:

I am hoping that each of you is safe and secure in the aftermath of the most severe weather condition in recent memory, and that your loved ones are also safe. I offer my sympathy for any losses you have suffered.

Our concern now is to make planning easier for all and to minimize the risk for folks who are in areas without electricity or transportation. Consequently, the College will remain closed and will re-open on Monday, November 5. All classes and events are cancelled. The residence halls remain open.

Vice President David Podell is emailing students, faculty, and staff to give them a revised schedule for the advisement and registration process that was to have begun on Thursday, November 1.

In these moments when our security is threatened and our lives and those of our loved ones are severely disrupted, it is reassuring to belong to a caring community such as ours at MMC. To each of you I send good wishes and my hope that you are managing under the current conditions.

Sincerely,
Judson R. Shaver
