MMC Graduates Are Shining on the Great White Way & on the Road this Spring!

Following their passions and talents, Theater Arts alumni from Marymount Manhattan College are a part of the neon lights on Broadway and are opening in the hottest shows this season!
  • Emmy Raver-Lampman ’12 performs in the ensemble of “Jekyll & Hyde” and landed the amazing understudy role for the lead of Lucy. Emmy shares the stage with fellow alum Brian Gallagher ’02, who is also appearing in the “Jekyll & Hyde” ensemble and is the understudy for the leading male character, John Utterson. In addition to his Broadway career, this singer/songwriter has an album due out this summer.
  • Annaleigh Ashford ’05 is starring in the rave-reviewed Broadway musical, “Kinky Boots.” Annaleigh completed her Marymount Manhattan bachelor’s degree in just three years so she could start working professionally as quickly as possible. She has also appeared in the Broadway productions “Legally Blonde,” “Rent,” and “Hair.” 


Erica Swindell ’08 has made her Broadway debut with “Once” in which she rotates between three main roles, Girl, Réza, Ex-Girlfriend. 

National Tours

  • Ta’Rea Campbell ’01, is on the national tour of Sister Act, playing the role of Deloris. Her previous Broadway credits include Leap of Faith, The Book of Mormon (original casts), The Lion King, Aida, and Little Shop of Horrors.
  • Nick LaMedica ’10, is on the first national tour of War Horse and is both puppeteer and actor on stage


Other Performance Arts graduates in the news include:

  • Kathleen (Hatch) Monteleone ’05, who just completed a run in the recently closed Broadway musical “Hands on a Hard Body,” will be performing the Star Spangled Banner at this year’s Marymount Manhattan College Graduation Ceremony at Avery Fisher Hall. Kathleen is married to another Marymount Manhattan graduate, Frank Monteleone ’04, a business developer and producer for the stage, film, and television industries.
  • The international tour of the Broadway hit, “American Idiot,” features Thomas Hettrick ’12 in one of the lead roles. After touring Europe, this Marymount Manhattan College grad will be performing in the U.S., Japan, and South Korea. 
  • Nick Sanchez ’03 just concluded his role as Valentine in the Broadway ensemble of Mary Poppins where he was with the cast since 2006. The show concluded in March and is now on tour. Prior to Poppins, Sanchez was a performer in other productions including, Tarzan (2006), But I’m a Cheerleader (2005) and Altar Boyz (2005). Sanchez also appeared in Rent on Broadway. 


When a student attends the Theatre Arts program at Marymount Manhattan College they acquire something special: professional theatre training combined with a strong liberal arts education in Manhattan. Math Department Holds The Eleventh Annual Pi-Day Contest

Every year, the Mathematics department holds a College-wide π-Day contest. Students, faculty, and staff are invited to submit an original sentence, paragraph, poem, or short story that uses the digits of π in order (π ≈ 3.1415926..).
