Presidential Transition Team
A seamless presidential transition from current President Judson Shaver to President-Elect Kerry Walk is essential. A transition team has been formed for the purpose of facilitating an effective and successful transition.
The charge to the Presidential Transition Team is to develop a transition plan, in coordination with both President Shaver and President-Elect Walk, with key activities to be accomplished within the transition period (April 2015 – June 2015) and the first 6 months of the new president’s tenure (July 2015 – December 2015). The transition team will create a transition plan that will help the incoming president become familiar with important contacts and relationships, the college culture, and the greater community. The team will identify key activities and opportunities to accomplish those goals. A primary focus of the plan will be to facilitate a collaborative and inclusive transition process for President-Elect Walk.
The transition team is composed of members who represent a variety of stakeholders. It is chaired by trustee, Barbara Loughlin `70. The transition team is an advisory group and implementation of the transition plan will be the responsibility of appropriate College groups and individuals, as specified in the plan. Joining Barbara Loughlin `70 on the Presidential Transition Team will be those noted below:
Barbara Loughlin, ’70, MMC Trustee
Hope Knight, ’85, MMC Trustee

We look forward to welcoming President-elect Walk to campus in April and again in May. She will have a very full schedule during her visits. During her May visit she will have the opportunity to engage with many members of the Marymount Manhattan community.
In the near future, the team will begin developing and collecting ideas for transition activities. Community input will be important in this process and periodic updates will be provided.
Thank you for your participation and support for the work ahead.
Best wishes,
Hope Knight
