Ambassador Chowdhury Talks “Peace” at MMC Lecture

On Tuesday March 24, 2015, the former UN Ambassador of Bangladesh, Anwarul Karim Chowdhury, spoke on “The Culture of Peace” to a filled Regina Peruggi Room of MMC students, faculty, members of the United Nations, and INSAF.

MMC’s Department of International Studies and the Division of Humanities and Social Sciences (co-sponsored with INSAF) welcomed Ambassador Chowdhury for his lecture, “The Culture of Peace:  Essence of a New Global Civilization”.  Mr. Chowdhury is the former UN Ambassador of Bangladesh to the United Nations, and a former UN Under-Secretary-General and High Representative for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States.

The event marked the launch of the International South Asia Forum (INSAF) seminar series at MMC.  INSAF is a coalition of individuals and organizations dedicated to the promotion of peace and social justice in South Asia.
