Liberal Studies Program

The Liberal Studies Program allows students that have not yet selected their major, the opportunity to meet with one of our academic advisors (on a regular basis) to discuss potential programs of study. 

By completing the A.A. in Liberal Arts at BMCC, you will be prepared to eventually select one of the following areas of focus…

*When satisfying the 12-26 credit social science requirement, students should select one course in Geography, Sociology, History or Political Science and one course in Philosophy or Psychology.
 
*When satisfying the 3 credit Math requirement, students should select Introduction to Statistics or higher.
 
*If a student intends to transfer into the MMC Art major, they should select a Music course when satisfying the 3-6 credit requirement of Art or Music.
 
*Students that enter the MMC Theatre Performance or Acting program should anticipate three full years of study upon transferring with an A.A. degree.
