Foundation courses—such as Photography I, Photography II, and Digital Imaging—are offered at Marymount Manhattan. Students take upper-division courses at our partner institution, The International Center of Photography (ICP). Located in midtown Manhattan, ICP features a world-class museum, houses state-of-the-art darkroom and digital facilities, and manages one of the largest collections of photographic books in their reference library.

Students may select courses to strengthen skills in lighting, portraiture, landscape, photojournalism, medium- and large-format photography, and advanced darkroom and digital techniques.

Photography students conclude their career at MMC in the capstone Senior Art Seminar with a Senior Art Exhibition that they design, install, and for which they produce an artist’s statement. The exhibitions are held in MMC’s Hewitt Gallery of Art in the Spring semester and are open to the public.
