Why Study Economics?

We live in a world of scarce resources. This fact raises many, high-stakes questions. Who gets a vaccine? Where should schools be built? Should we have driverless cars? With an Economics minor, you’ll probe the underpinnings of these complex situations and enrich your understanding of domestic and global markets. You’ll pick up critical decision-making skills regarding the production and distribution of goods and services—and learn about the human element behind every business decision.

    Why Study Economics at MMC?

The economics curriculum at MMC will provide an introduction to the basic principles of economics and give you an opportunity to explore their application to contemporary issues. The courses in economics are an integral part of the core finance and international business programs as well as the interdisciplinary international studies program. This is your chance to use the economic approach to explore finance and investment, or economic development and comparative economics through your choice of electives. Our Economics minors have forged successful careers in banking and finance and have also been admitted to reputed national and international graduate programs in business, finance, and computer sciences.
